Role Overview

In this position, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with international tax regulations while optimizing tax processes for employees on global assignments. You will be responsible for managing the tax implications of global mobility, supporting smooth cross-border transitions, and minimizing tax-related risks and costs for both the organization and its employees.

This role requires a strong understanding of global mobility tax, close collaboration with internal stakeholders, and a client-focused mindset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, and file tax returns and related deliverables for globally mobile employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Provide expert tax advice and strategic recommendations on tax planning, withholding obligations, and social security contributions.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance and HR teams to ensure accurate payroll tax and social security reporting.
  • Advise on assignment structures, tax treaties, and tax-efficient benefits to optimize employee and company outcomes.
  • Educate and counsel employees on their tax obligations and the implications of international assignments.
  • Support and explain tax equalization and tax protection policies, ensuring employee understanding and compliance.
  • Analyze compensation and payroll data to calculate tax liabilities and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Prepare and submit applications and documentation to support tax optimization, including detailed data analysis and direct communication with assignees.
  • Maintain comprehensive and audit-ready tax records and documentation.
  • Stay up to date with changes in international tax laws and global mobility regulations.
  • Prepare and present tax reports to management, auditors, and tax authorities, highlighting risks, insights, and recommendations.
  • Develop a strong understanding of other service lines to identify cross-functional issues and collaborate with Tax SMEs on integrated solutions.
  • Conduct in-depth research on country-specific tax issues, particularly in jurisdictions where the business operates.
Client & Business Development Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients with employees on international business trips, providing high-quality service and support.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Manage the financial aspects of engagements, including billing, collections, and tracking KPIs and metrics.
  • Partner with clients to implement Global Mobility Tax strategies that minimize liabilities for both employers and employees.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing client relationships through a deep understanding of evolving client needs.
  • Support the growth of the client portfolio and strengthen long-term client relationships.
  • Analyze market trends and the competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and areas for expansion.
