Management Accountant - Year-end Support | 3-month FTC | Warrington | Fashion & Retail | £50,000 - £60,000 | 4-5 Days Office Based | Immediate Start

  • Immediate Start - My client is looking for someone to start ASAP with 1 week's notice maximum. Candidates outside of this will not be considered

This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing fashion and retail business during a critical period in the finance calendar. The company operates in a highly commercial, fast-paced environment and is known for its entrepreneurial mindset and collaborative culture. With strong recent growth, the finance team plays a central role in supporting decision-making and ensuring robust financial control.

This role has a clear year-end accounting focus and will suit a technically strong Management Accountant who enjoys getting into the detail while working closely with senior finance leadership.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will take ownership of key year-end activities and support the wider finance function through a busy and important period.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading year-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely month-end and year-end reporting.
  • Preparing and reviewing management accounts with a strong focus on balance sheet integrity.
  • Ownership of accruals, prepayments, provisions and journal postings.
  • Supporting statutory accounts preparation and audit queries.
  • Reviewing and reconciling complex balance sheet accounts.
  • Assisting with year-end financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Working closely with the Head of Finance to identify risks, issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Supporting process improvements to strengthen financial controls and reporting efficiency.
About You
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Proven experience as a Management Accountant, ideally within retail, fashion, FMCG or a fast-paced consumer business.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly around year-end processes.
  • Confident working autonomously and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfortable working with large volumes of data.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.
  • Able to communicate clearly with senior stakeholders.
