Akey role responsible for control of all capital expenditure, statutory reporting and tax compliance, as well as providing financial insight to the R&D function.

Statutory accounting, tax and compliance
  • Produce the statutory accounts along with the associated supporting evidence and reconciliations.
  • Responsible for all tax compliance matters (Corporation tax, VAT, RDEC submission)
  • Coordinate the external audit process and promote best practice in internal control compliance, identifying and implementing improvements.
Fixed asset management
  • Support for, and vetting of, investment applications, and subsequent follow up and reporting.
  • Maintenance and verification of the fixed asset register.
  • R&D capital project monitoring, and impairment reviews.
Business Partnering and collaboration
  • Act as Finance Business Partner to the R&D function, providing analysis, insight and recommendations to aid decision making.
  • Provide finance training to non-finance teams to develop financial acumen.
  • Support finance team completion of month end close, forecasting, and business planning activities as required.
Continuous Improvement
  • Support / drive digitalisation and continuous improvement projects within both the finance department, and across other departments.
Education / Qualification / Experience:
  • Hands on experience in Statutory Accounts preparation and tax compliance
  • Good working knowledge of ERP systems (eg. SysPro, SAP or similar).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft office, especially Excel.
