Job description

GVA Search is proud to be partnering with a fast-growing, leading retailer in London, seeking a proactive and results-oriented Management Accountant to join their high-performing finance team.

This pivotal role involves a wide range of financial responsibilities, including transactional processing, in-depth financial analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Month-end analysis: Conduct comprehensive P&L analysis with insightful commentary on financial performance. Oversee balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy and compliance.
  2. Expense management: Manage utility expenses (electricity, gas, water) and serve as the primary contact for energy providers. Oversee accounting for IT, digital marketing, and postage & packaging costs.
  3. Intercompany transactions: Manage recharge coding, invoice verification, and P&L postings. Collaborate with the Distribution Centre Cost Accounting team on monthly and annual cost tracking.
  4. Stakeholder relationships: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including the e-commerce team. Provide regular financial reports and analysis.
  5. Fixed asset management: Oversee the entire lifecycle, including recording, reconciliation, budgeting, depreciation, and impairment reviews.
  6. Process improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance financial processes and implement solutions.
  7. Supporting finance team: Assist the Financial Controller and Finance Manager with month-end reporting and special projects.

The ideal candidate is ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or part-qualified, preferably with experience in retail or FMCG sectors. The role suits a motivated individual with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication, and proficiency in Excel.
