The Role: Management Accountant - London - Hybrid

Venture Recruitment Partners are working exclusively with a growing organisation to recruit a Management Accountant. This role will play a key part in providing high-quality financial information and analysis to support strategic decision‑making across the business.

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of management accounts, budgeting and forecasting, financial analysis, and the maintenance of strong financial controls. The role involves close collaboration with the wider finance team and key stakeholders across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts, producing clear variance analysis and commentary.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support business planning and strategic decision‑making.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working closely with department heads.
  • Monitor budget performance and update forecasts to reflect changing business conditions.
  • Analyse costs and profitability, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Monitor overheads, trends, and variances, providing recommendations to improve financial control.
  • Support pricing and margin analysis through detailed cost and profitability assessments.
  • Provide financial insight and analysis to support business strategy and key projects.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and financial modelling to assess the impact of business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, financial regulations, tax requirements, and internal policies.
  • Support internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as required.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and contribute to the development of robust internal controls.
  • Act as a key finance contact for stakeholders across the group, presenting financial information clearly and effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Service Lines, and the People team to support financial planning and decision‑making.
Experience and Qualifications
  • Professionally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or qualified by experience (QBE).
  • 1-3 years' experience in a management accounting or similar finance role.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using accounting/ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross‑functional teams and build effective working relationships.
