A role where your financial expertise helps people live life to the full.

St Elizabeth's is a unique, values-driven charity set within 60 acres of beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. We support children, young people and adults living with epilepsy, learning disabilities and complex health needs - and everything we do is centred on helping each person live life to the full.

Our Finance Team plays a vital role in making this happen. We are now looking for an experienced and motivated Management Accountant to join our friendly, collaborative, and high-performing team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be at the heart of our financial operations - delivering high-quality management accounts, insightful reporting and expert support that helps our leaders make sound, informed decisions.

If you want to use your talent in a place with purpose, this could be the perfect next step.

What you'll be doing

As our Management Accountant, you will:

  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts with meaningful insight and analysis.
  • Maintain robust Balance Sheet reconciliations and cash flow forecasting.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns and maintain restricted fund balances.
  • Prepare and apply pricing models, support contract negotiations, and manage debt recovery.
  • Work closely with budget holders to strengthen financial understanding and accountability.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning.
  • Contribute to year-end processes, external audits, and statutory reporting.
  • Help drive improvements to our systems, reporting and financial controls.
  • Collaborate with a brilliant Finance Team and wider operational colleagues.

Every day brings something different - but your work will always make a difference.

About you

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other CCAB body)
  • Experience producing management accounts with supporting analysis.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence with financial systems
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach and high attention to detail
  • The ability to explain finance clearly to non-finance colleagues.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to accuracy and collaboration

Experience within a charity, education or health environment is helpful but not essential - we're far more interested in your potential, professionalism, and passion for working within a purpose-led organisation.

Why join St Elizabeth's?

When you join our Finance Team, you become part of something bigger. We offer:

  • A warm, supportive, values-driven culture
  • Beautiful working environment with free onsite parking
  • Generous holiday allowance and pension scheme
  • Career development and training opportunities
  • The chance to be part of an organisation making a real impact every day.

Our values - Aspirational, Collaborative, Joyful and Compassionate - are at the heart of who we are and how we work.
