A leading recruitment agency is seeking a qualified Management Accountant to join a rapidly growing manufacturing and construction business in Warrington. The successful candidate will manage financial activities, prepare various accounts, and ensure compliance with standards. This role offers a salary between £50k-£65k, along with a bonus and benefits. Applicants must have relevant qualifications and live within a manageable commute to Warrington. Office-based position, no hybrid working available.

Job description

Outstanding opportunity for a CIMA, ACA or ACCA Qualified Management Accountant to join a £30m t/o pioneering manufacturing/construction business based in Warrington, a company steadily growing and on track to double in size by 2030. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, and managing a part-time account assistant and a full-time purchase ledger clerk, your remit will include:

  • Ensuring the day‑to‑day financial activities of the finance team (AP/AR/Payroll/Bank recs) are completed accurately and within required timescales.
  • Monthly management Accounts, Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
  • Project and Work in Progress reporting for the construction/installation arm of the business.
  • Variance analysis.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting.
  • Cash flow reporting and cash management.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial controls.
  • Monitoring financial performance against the budget.
  • Business partnering with Project Managers, Manufacturing Teams and Department Heads – providing financial insight to support commercial decision‑making.
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns, Corporation Tax filings, and other regulatory reporting.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate year‑end close processes and assist in external audits.
  • Supporting management with strategic financial planning, including capital investment analysis and cost control initiatives.
  • Modernising financial controls and processes to ensure optimum efficiency and to meet the evolving demands of the business.

Applicants should be fully CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified with previous supervisory and Management Accounting experience gained working for SME businesses in the construction sector (or very similar). Non‑Qualified ("QBE") FCs/MAs from the construction sector will also be considered. Alongside strong management accounting skills you will also have the gravitas and personality required to build strong relationships with a broad audience of finance and non‑finance staff across all areas of the business and at all levels up to board level. This is an excellent opportunity to join a very successful, expanding business and a friendly and collaborative team, working in a hands‑on, highly visible FC where you can make a real contribution and impact.

A salary range of £50‑£65k is complimented with benefits including Bonus (to £3.6k pa), 25 days annual leave + Bank Hols and 3% pension. Onsite parking. 40 hours per week, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Office based – No Hybrid working. Applicants must have full and indefinite eligibility to work in the UK (through being a UK citizen or having gained ILR) and should live within a sensible commute of Warrington.
