Overview

Male Support Worker – Night shift support at Blackfield, Southampton. Pay rate: £13.42 per hour, including the night enhancement. Typical shift: 9.30pm – 7.30am, including weekends on a rota.

Schedule
  • Week 1: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Week 2: Monday, Thursday, Friday

About the Role

We’re seeking genuinely caring, hands‑on male Support Workers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support. As a support worker you’ll help people gain more independence in their daily lives, working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people. Tasks include teaching new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging community access, socialising and organising activities such as local bars and pubs, video games, films, or cinema outings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person‑centred care and support to residents on a nightly rota.
  • Teach new life skills and assist with personal care.
  • Encourage participation in local community activities and social events.
  • Maintain accurate records and support Positive Behaviour Support plans.
  • Promote independence and confidence to help residents meet personal goals.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Experience with Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice.
  • Experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviours of distress, mental health conditions, autism, forensic histories and trauma.
  • Resilient, flexible and composed approach.
