Overview

Job Summary: Gator Investments is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician/Handyman to join our team, serving our shopping plazas and retail centers located in Southern Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have a diverse range of technical skills and experience in construction, with a focus on property maintenance. Experience with commercial properties is .

In this role, you will perform general maintenance tasks, repairs, and improvements across our four properties located in Swansea, MA; Norton, MA; and Fairhaven, MA.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Property Management: Assist with turnkey operations, make vacant units rent-ready in a timely manner, and conduct preventive maintenance and repairs.
  2. Appliance Repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctioning equipment safely and effectively.
  3. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve MEP issues, handle carpentry repairs, and ensure properties remain in top condition.
  4. Repairs: Perform minor repairs to walls, ceilings, floors, and fixtures, including drywall patching, painting, and flooring repairs.
  5. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and best practices to maintain a safe work environment.
  6. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including repairs, maintenance schedules, and inspections.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician, handyman, or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, plumbing, electrical work, construction, and carpentry.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools and related equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
  • Must live reasonably close to the locations for daily check ins.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
  • Must be able to travel to all properties daily.
  • Ability to bend, squat, climb, and stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (indoors and outdoors).
