Job summary

A technology services company in Dartford is seeking an individual to assist in the maintenance and operation of the M Tunnels. Key responsibilities include managing electronic and technology equipment, ensuring safety compliance, and performing routine maintenance. The ideal candidate will have recognized qualifications in electronics or technology and experience in a similar role. This position offers a shift schedule of 4 days on, 4 days off, ensuring a balanced work-life structure.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.

  • Assist in the operation of M Tunnels through maintenance and repairs.
  • Complete records including daily and maintenance report sheets.
  • Drive vehicles for maintenance purposes.

Job description
The role

To assist in the efficient operation of the M Tunnels by undertaking maintenance and other tasks as required by the Shift Manager

This is a 4 days on – 4 days off. hour shift, 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off

  • To be conversant with Plant Monitoring and Control Systems, including SCADA, PLCs, I/O, networking etc.
  • To be conversant with a range of electronic / technology equipment including CCTV, incident detection, radio rebroadcast, telephone networks, fire alarm systems, air monitoring etc. within the Dartford River Crossing and other M Tunnels, under normal and emergency conditions.
  • Repair and maintenance of the traffic safety system on the approach to the Dartford tunnels including sensors, barriers and traffic signals.
  • To complete any records as required, including daily worksheets, and maintenance report sheets
  • To read drawings and carry out fault finding and repairs without supervision
  • Carry out any work of a manual, semi-skilled or skilled nature of any type of trade description (including 'out of trade' work) under the instructions of the Shift Manager
  • Drive vehicles as required, for maintenance purposes
  • Attend incidents and work safely in accordance with policies to facilitate the early clear up of hazard / incident
Qualifications & Skills :
  • Recognised Electronic or Technology Qualifications or Apprenticeship
  • IT literate
  • Card holder (or willing to undertake training) in (but not limited to
  • MEWPS
  • Confined Spaces
  • CSCS
Experience
  • Experience of routine maintenance and repairs to a wide range of electronics / technology equipment
  • Practical maintenance or servicing experience with a wide knowledge of computer / logic control systems
  • Fault finding using schematic drawings
  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation
  • Ability to carry out installation work to current legislation / standards.
