Qualifications

  • At least 2 years' experience in a maintenance department of a manufacturing company.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley / Mitsubishi PLC fault-finding and knowledge of systems.
  • Capable of working unsupervised or within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to unexpected situations ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Assist in achieving departmental KPIs including MTBF and MTTR.
  • Schedule machine time for modifications and repairs.
  • Prioritize breakdowns and take corrective actions.
  • Process and expedite work orders and modifications.

We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician with either an electrical or mechanical bias to join our team and help support our high‑performance machinery and production processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond appropriately to unexpected and/or continuing situations that develop in the work environment, ensuring prompt attention and resolution of conditions that impact the business.
  • Assist the team to deliver departmental KPIs, including MTBF, MTTR, and reducing outstanding work.
  • Schedule machine time with Production to perform modifications, repairs or planned maintenance for equipment and order necessary materials and parts.
  • Follow up orders and ensure spare parts are fitted to the appropriate machine on delivery.
  • Analyse history on equipment, assess breakdowns, prioritise and take appropriate corrective action; provide technical assistance to ensure shortest possible machine downtime, recording and creating manuals & drawings for early recovery.
  • Attend departmental meetings to discuss projects, issues, and team briefings.
  • Process, review, and expedite work orders, modifications, equipment drawings, schematics, check sheets, job instructions, and calibrations records.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
  • Recognised time‑served engineering apprenticeship, together with at least 2 years’ experience in a maintenance department of a manufacturing company.
  • Minimum ONC or City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent (Technical Certificate, etc.).
  • PLC experience fault‑finding – Allen Bradley / Mitsubishi and knowledge of systems would be desirable.
  • Capable of working unsupervised or within a team.
  • Conversant with the use of machine tools.
  • AC, DC & Servo Drive Experience.
Required Skills
  • Knowledge of maintenance policies, procedures, and terms.
  • Strong project management with an emphasis to improve reliability.
  • Good oral communication.
  • Ability to undertake a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
  • Respond effectively and perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly.
  • Knowledge of appropriate office software applications.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
