Maintenance Technician Yateley Manor School Full Time position Salary - Up to £30,000 depending on experience. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team, based at Yateley Manor School. This is a full time, permanent position with occasional work across multiple sites within the Inspired Learning Group. The role offers varied responsibilities and scope for progression. Inspired Learning Group is a growing group of independent senior schools, preparatory schools and nurseries in the UK. We take great pride in each one of them, supporting them enthusiastically in the achievement of excellence. Roles and responsibilities for this position will be but not limited to:

Responsibilities
  • installation inspections, diagnosing faults, testing, replacement, repair and maintenance of building fixtures and fittings
  • general plumbing including washers, taps, unblocking toilets, unblocking stacks, installing new sinks, urinals and toilets, pipework (copper or PVC)
  • general carpentry such as hanging doors, new locks, architraves, window frames, boxing in, assembling furniture, easing and adjusting windows, replacing handles and similar hardware
  • general tiling - floors and walls
  • flooring work, such as carpet tiles
  • general painting & decorating
  • basic electrical maintenance
  • identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices and health and safety
  • liaising with Line Manager and other team members and performing jobs as and when they are required
  • carry out planned tasks in accordance with requirements
  • carry out tasks within specified time limits
  • ensure compliance to applicable codes, legislation and procedures including health and safety
  • maintain accurate records/documentation associated with your work and report to line manager upon completion
  • meet your targets and contribute to those of the team as a whole
  • contribute towards the efficient running of the team
  • adhere to all organisation policies and procedures
Qualifications
  • hold or willing to undertake certification in Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Management of Fire Risk and Water based management systems
  • have experience in maintenance and this type of role
  • have requisite knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the environment
  • demonstrate knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations applicable to this role
  • have skills in general DIY and maintenance including assessment, installation, repair, and maintenance
  • be honest, friendly, and approachable with an ability to work alone when required
  • understand and deliver good customer service
  • have good attention to detail
  • demonstrable time management and project management skills
  • have a full clean driving licence
  • undergo child protection screening, enhanced DBS clearance, identity checks, qualification checks, employment checks exploring gaps in employment, and provide two satisfactory references. Registration with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) is required.
