The Cambridge Packaging facility is currently seeking a top-notch Maintenance Technician to join our growing team on 2nd and 3rd shifts!

Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance activities to fix, improve, and repair equipment to ensure they function within their operating specifications. Responsibilities include executing these activities, reporting any new problems observed, and confirming work completion.

  • Must comply with and support all applicable GMPs, Site Security, and Food Packaging Defense requirements as outlined in the facility's GFSI food packaging safety program.
  • Utilize electrical, mechanical, or combined skills to resolve breakdown issues with minimal impact on production.
  • Carry out regular maintenance, process improvements, and project activities to minimize equipment breakdowns and maximize process capability to meet production and quality targets.
  • Complete all planned maintenance activities within the scheduled time frame.
  • Proactively develop technical skills and stay updated with engineering best practices.
  • Ensure all work, as directed by the Engineering Supervisor, is performed accurately, to a high standard, and within the specified timescales.
  • Make effective decisions regarding repair costs.
  • Seek continuous improvement in repairing and maintaining machinery efficiently.
  • Follow the requirements of the PACE program.
  • Communicate with the operations team to develop a collaborative approach to asset maintenance.
  • Use the MVP computerized maintenance management system to manage work orders, check parts and supplies, review task records, and close completed tasks.
  • Record in MVP Plant the details of completed work orders, including parts used, time spent, root cause, activities performed, and any observations requiring follow-up.
  • Enter work orders for discovered repair needs.
  • Complete observational safety cards or other site-specific tools to promote health and safety behaviors, with a target of two stops cards per month to be submitted to the Health and Safety Manager.
Education & Certifications

Technical school training, military technical training, or equivalent experience.

Job Specific Technical Requirements

Engineering qualifications are required. Knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and automation systems. Experience in corrugator or converting manufacturing processes. Service-oriented with a sense of urgency. Strong results-oriented mindset.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years in a similar engineering role within a corrugated manufacturing environment. Good communication skills and ability to work systematically and rigorously. Fluency in English.
