Job description
Maintenance Operative
Location: Hartwell, Northampton
Hours: 4 days - 30 hours per week
Salary Details: £13.58 Per Hour

We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Operative, Ideally, for someone with good communication skills and a flexible attitude to their work. Must be organised and able to prioritise their work effectively. The successful candidate will be based at our Oakleaf Hartwell site, Northampton. However, you will need to be willing to travel between sites.

The role of Maintenance Operative, is to work as a member of our well-established facilities team, in maintaining and ensuring a high standard environment for our reputable nursing homes based within the Northamptonshire area.

The general upkeep, safety and security of our residents and staff teams, is of paramount importance. You will take an active team role in supporting our services and assisting with the quality of life, for our residents in a comfortable and safe environment.

Previous commercial/general maintenance experience is essential. Ideally having experience in plumbing and electrical work, as well as experience in minor building repairs, decorating, woodwork and equipment/furniture repairs.

Personal Specification/Essential:

  • Previous experience of working in a maintenance role
  • Good knowledge of relevant Health and Safety regulations
  • Good Written and Verbal skills
  • Intermediate IT skills in Microsoft word and use of email
  • Physically fit and able lift light items of equipment and furniture
  • Able to use and maintain hand and power tools
  • Ability to be able to prioritise, respond and adopt a positive approach to work
  • Able to carry out some cleaning as directed
  • Able to work on and maintain external areas

Personal Specification/Desirable:

  • Experience in a Health/social care environment
  • Formal qualification in a trade
  • Formal health and safety training
