Maintenance Operative

Bayards Court, Dartmouth

£15.50 per hour

39 hours per week

At Vivant Care, every space matters – because it’s where comfort and care come to life. As our Maintenance Operative, you’ll be the person who makes sure everything works as it should, from fixing the little things to keeping our home safe and welcoming.

This role is about more than tools and repairs – it’s about creating an environment where residents feel secure and supported every day. You’ll take pride in solving problems quickly, planning ahead, and ensuring our home always meets the highest standards.

Your role
  • Carry out repairs, maintenance, and routine safety checks to a high standard
  • Liaise with contractors and stakeholders to ensure safe, high-quality work is completed on time and in line with regulations
  • Test and log equipment including PAT, fire alarms, emergency lighting, generators and plant rooms
  • Respond quickly to complaints, service breakdowns and emergencies such as power or water outages
  • Keep tools and equipment in good condition, manage stock levels and stay within budget
  • Maintain accurate records, complete monthly audits and prepare reports for senior managers
Your skills
  • Hands‑on experience in caretaking, general maintenance and minor repairs
  • Confident using hand tools and basic machinery
