Maintenance Engineer - Ystrad Mynach, CF82

Location: Ystrad Mynach, CF82. Commutable from Hengoed, Blackwood, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Ebbw Vale, Rhymney, Tredegar, Abertillery, Newport, Cardiff, Pontypridd, Llantrisant.

Salary: £34,000 - £35,000 per annum

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established business with growth plans. The client is looking to hire a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias, ideally with experience in a manufacturing environment. The role is day-based, offering a chance to avoid night shifts.

Working across various manufacturing sectors, this role offers a chance to join a rapidly expanding and secure business entering new markets.

Responsibilities:

• Problem solving, fault finding, and general repair of all machines, processes, and services
• Providing plant preventative maintenance and developing the maintenance program, including stock levels and re-order policies
• Assisting in developing and delivering capital improvement projects, including automation in assembly and moulding areas
• Supporting general facilities maintenance
• Participating in engineering projects and activities
• Integrating downstream operations like drilling, stamping, and inserts into automated processes
• Setting up and optimizing new processes and equipment, and reporting on their effectiveness

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Qualified in electrical maintenance engineering (apprenticeship trained)
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Participation in continuous improvement programs (CIP)
• Good housekeeping (5S)
