Location: Newcastle under Lyme ST5

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off days and nights, 12‑hour shifts.

Annual Pay Rate: £52,886.16 Monthly Pay, PAYE. Statutory Deductions for TAX, NI and (Pension if not opted) out apply.
The Role
Our Client seeking a skilled Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to work in the food production environment while promoting a strong Continuous Improvement culture. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the role involves planned maintenance, fault finding, breakdown repairs, and the installation and modification of plant and site services to help achieve world‑class asset performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out engineering work efficiently and effectively in line with Good Manufacturing Practice, health & safety legislation, and site standards.
- Diagnose faults and carry out breakdown repairs on process equipment, manufacturing plant, packaging machinery, and site services.
- Complete planned preventive maintenance, plant modifications, and machinery upgrades.
- Work across electrical and mechanical disciplines within authorised skill level.
- Liaise daily with the Maintenance Team Leader and Maintenance Planner to understand and deliver maintenance priorities.
- Conduct thorough shift handover and escape issues when required.
- Communicate with external suppliers regarding plant and machinery issues, ensuring documentation and drawings are kept up to date.
- Accurately record and close maintenance tasks using the CMMS (EAM / Mainsaver).
- Support project work, including the installation and commissioning of machinery and equipment.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (minimum requirement).
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent trade qualification.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance engineering role, ideally within an FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Computer literate with experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System.
- Flexible, multi‑skilled approach with the ability to work across disciplines and without trade demarcation.
- Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies is desirable.
