Job summary

A leading provider of automated wash services in Milton Keynes is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure equipment efficiency and address breakdowns promptly. The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and over 5 years of relevant experience. Qualifications

  • Over 5 years of experience in a fast-paced, automated engineering/maintenance environment.
  • HACCP Level 2 or 3, IOSH or NEBOSH (desired).

Responsibilities

  • Minimize unplanned downtime through effective fault-finding and timely repairs.
  • Identify root causes and implement long-term fixes to support continuous improvement.
  • Ensure safety, hygiene and quality standards are consistently upheld.

Skills

Strong fault-finding ability (electrical and/or mechanical)
Experience with PLCs, inverters, servo motors or pneumatics
Fabrication and welding skills

Education

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

The Role of the Maintenance Engineer

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for preventative maintenance and attending breakdowns across site equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.

Responsibilities
  • Minimise unplanned downtime through effective fault-finding and timely repairs
  • Identify root causes and implement long-term fixes to support continuous improvement
  • Ensure safety, hygiene and quality standards are consistently upheld
  • Work closely with operations teams and escalate unresolved issues where needed
About the Maintenance Engineer
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (e.g. C&G, ONC).
  • Over 5 year s experience in a fast-paced, automated engineering/maintenance environment
  • Strong fault-finding ability (electrical and/or mechanical)
  • Experience with PLCs, inverters, servo motors or pneumatics
  • HACCP Level 2 or 3, IOSH or NEBOSH (desired)
  • Fabrication and welding skills (desired)
