What's the role

As a Maintenance Engineer within the Site Services team, you will ensure the safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operation of plant, equipment, and services across the site. Working closely with internal teams, contractors, and production staff, you will play a key part in maintaining asset performance, supporting improvements, and contributing to a safe and efficient working environment. The role is predominantly mechanical but requires some electrical and instrumentation capability, alongside a proactive, practical, and problem‑solving mindset.

What you’ll be doing
  • Ensure the safe and uninterrupted running of plant, equipment, and services using both planned and reactive (breakdown) maintenance.
  • Use the Maintenance Management System to carry out planned and reactive mechanical and electrical work.
  • Communicate with internal customers and external suppliers to obtain technical guidance for repairs and plant improvements.
  • Contribute to and support departmental and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) activities and improvements.
  • Carry out installation of plant and equipment as required.
  • Identify and implement process and plant improvements.
  • Assist with mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks when needed.
  • Maintain good engineering and housekeeping practices at all times.
What you bring
  • Completed apprenticeship training in mechanical plant maintenance.
  • A recognised engineering qualification (minimum ONC level or equivalent).
  • Willingness to learn and expand your technical knowledge.
  • Relevant experience in industrial maintenance.
  • Strong team‑working ability and the capability to build effective relationships with production staff.
  • Practical mindset and strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Experience in manual handling.
  • Flexible approach to working practices; dependable and reliable.
  • Good influencing skills and the confidence to challenge when necessary.
  • Local knowledge (local to the business).
  • Full driving license and own transport.
  • A 'can do' attitude.
