Maintenance Engineer

We are a leading manufacturer driven by a passion for quality, sustainability, and innovation. We’re looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will be truly multi-skilled or have a 60/40 electrical or mechanical bias, with strong engineering fundamentals across both disciplines. This role is key to achieving long-term equipment reliability, reducing breakdowns, and supporting improvement projects that maximise machinery utilisation and efficiency. The successful engineer will be expected to work autonomously, drive root cause analysis, and contribute to a proactive, high-performing engineering department that supports future business growth.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the Engineering Manager in developing a high-performing engineering team with a focus on zero breakdowns and optimal machine setup.
  • Carry out planned maintenance to maximise uptime and minimise disruption.
  • Respond effectively to reactive maintenance requirements, prioritising production continuity.
  • Work on electrical installations up to 400V, process safety circuits, PLC control circuits, and VSDs in line with safety standards.
  • Contribute to the creation and review of risk assessments, SOPs, OPLs, and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct thorough mechanical and electrical fault diagnosis using structured root cause analysis.
  • Respond immediately to breakdowns and potential safety hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
Experience and Qualifications Required
  • Recognised engineering apprenticeship (electrical, mechanical or multi-skilled).
  • Proven experience in a multi-skilled engineer role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical engineering capability.
