Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Work Location: Northern Ireland

Schedule: Permanent Full-Time, 6 week rotational shift pattern across 7 days per week on the below shifts:

  • 04:30am to 12:30pm
  • 08:00am to 16:00pm
  • 15:30pm to 23:30pm

General overview

The Maintenance Engineer will support the overall Hatchery and maintenance team on site to deliver effective and timely maintenance solutions to the site in with Health & Safety protocols. They will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.

  • The successful candidate will be required to join an on call rotation along with the rest of the management and maintenance team. Salary will vary depending on experience.
  • Single Skilled applicants must have a Level 3 qualification in their main discipline.
  • Whilst providing assistance and support to our hatchery management across a wide variety of farming activity, this Maintenance Engineering role is very much a first step in a career in agriculture.
  • The successful candidate will live Welfare as a Condition in all that they do.
  • They will contribute to the efficient running of the hatchery machinery and have the opportunity to learn hands on how to maintain machinery and a safe environment.
  • Simultaneously, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow and development via our bespoke Agriculture Academy.
  • Growing our own agriculture specialists and leaders of the future is something that is extremely important to our client.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

  • A keen interest in farming where animal welfare is of the upmost most importance
  • Desire to work hands on in a farming environment
  • To be reliable and flexible
  • A passion for learning
  • Must have Level 3 qualification in main discipline for single skilled
  • Must have Level 3 qualification in main discipline and Level 2 is second discipline for multi-skilled
  • Must be literate and numerate.
  • Must be able to think clearly.
  • Must be able to work as a team member.
  • Must have a positive attitude to work and others
  • Good manual dexterity is essential.
  • Good communication skills are desirable.
  • The ability to work on own initiative and learn new skills is desirable.
  • Must have evidence of handyman skills
  • Must be able to diagnose and solve problems
  • Good time organisation skills are desirable
  • Previous welding, electrical and plumbing experience desirable.
  • Able to complete paperwork
