Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £48,500
Schedule: 2 days, 2 nights / 4 off
Location: Doncaster
Type: Full-time / Permanent
Become a key Maintenance Engineer with a top-tier food manufacturing business.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the UK's most respected food manufacturers. Reporting to the Engineering Department, you'll be the lead electrical engineer on site, driving engineering excellence, mentoring junior team members, and delivering high standards of equipment performance.

Core Duties
  • Act as the lead electrical engineer, ensuring smooth operation of all site equipment
  • Support the engineering team in rapid breakdown response, fault diagnosis, and repairs
  • Investigate and address root causes of recurring issues to improve reliability
  • Lead and support engineering projects, equipment installations, and process improvements
  • Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and lower costs
  • Ensure all engineering activities meet legislative, safety, and quality standards
  • Carry out risk assessments and maintain safe systems of work
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for engineering tasks
  • Mentor junior engineers and apprentices, sharing technical expertise and best practice
  • Deliver training to engineers and operators on maintenance activities
Your Profile
  • Completed apprenticeship in electrical or multi-skilled engineering
  • Experience in FMCG or food manufacturing maintenance
  • Proven expertise in fault diagnosis and resolution
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Self-sufficient in managing tasks, with strong collaboration skills
  • Takes initiative with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on prevention
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
  • HNC/HND in Engineering
  • Understanding of food safety standards
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems
  • Project management or project support experience
