Role: Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £49,356
Overtime: Paid at 2.0 and 1.5
Location: Croydon
Shift Pattern: Double days. Week 1: 6am to 2pm / Week 2: 2pm- 10pm
Pension: 6% Contribution

I have an opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to work for one of the world’s largest manufacturers of automated material handling systems. The company has a global turnover of more than £800 million and delivers an excellent 99.2% accuracy on customer orders, managing thousands per week.

I am looking for a team player who enjoys working in a large maintenance team and brings positive energy to the role.

The Role

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  1. Planned and reactive maintenance and servicing of all automated equipment on site.
  2. Working as part of an on-site maintenance engineering team of over 30 engineers.
  3. Mechanical work such as replacing worn-out parts on conveyors, including rollers, bearings, and pulleys.
  4. Electrical work involving reading electrical schematics, using test equipment like multimeters, and fault finding on panels.
  5. Swapping electrical and mechanical components like for like, with occasional strip and rebuild projects.

The Person

To be successful as a Maintenance Engineer, you will need:

  • An electrical or mechanical qualification.
  • Maintenance experience in a production, manufacturing, or warehousing environment.
  • Alternatively, experience from the Navy, Army, or RAF with an electrical qualification.
