Overview

School Maintenance Caretaker

Are you an experienced maintenance professional looking to transition into the Education sector? This role is a temporary ongoing opportunity supporting site teams with day-to-day general maintenance and site tasks in schools across the area. There are full-time and part-time positions available throughout the school year, with the possibility (not guaranteed) of moving to a permanent contract within the schools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance of the school and litter picking
• Complete odd jobs delegated by the supervisor
• Open and close the school building
• Work independently and as part of a team to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently
• Set alarms

Requirements / Qualifications

• Available to start immediately and flexible with working hours, as some schools require split shifts (for example 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
• Must fully register with Aspire People, including providing right-to-work documentation and obtaining an Enhanced DBS (child workforce) processed by Aspire People at a cost of £56.20, unless you already have an update service registration
• Ability to work in schools and comply with safeguarding requirements
