Staffline is recruiting for Machine Operative - Cut Packhouse in Chichester.

As a Machine Operative, you\'ll be a vital part of the team that gets our freshly cut salads ready for the shelves for our client based in Chichester.

The rate of pay is £27,955.00 per annum.

This is a full-time role with a 4 on 3 off shift pattern. The hours of work are: 6.30am to 3pm + one late shift.

Your Time at Work

You'll be responsible for operating production machinery safely and efficiently, helping us deliver high-quality products to our customers every time.

Responsibilities
  • Operating cutting, weighing, or packing machinery safely and efficiently
  • Following production plans and schedules to ensure smooth line operation
  • Monitoring machine performance and reporting faults or breakdowns quickly
  • Ensuring the right weights, labels, and product quality at all times
  • Completing relevant paperwork and checks, including pre-start and end-of-run checks
  • Assisting with line set-up and changeovers to minimise downtime
  • Supporting hygiene and cleaning tasks in line with cleaning instruction cards (CICs)
  • Following all health, safety, and food safety procedures
  • Working closely with your team to hit daily targets and keep everything running smoothly
  • Fast-paced and physical role, working as part of a team
  • Involves standing, lifting, and operating machinery throughout the shift
What You'll Bring / Qualifications
  • A good level of focus and attention to detail
  • Confidence operating machinery (training will be given if needed)
  • Ability to follow procedures and safety instructions
  • Good communication and teamwork
  • Previous experience in food production or FMCG (a bonus, but not essential)
  • Willingness to learn and a proactive approach to getting the job done
