A leading healthcare organization is seeking an enthusiastic Lung Cancer Specialist Nurse to provide dedicated support for lung cancer patients and their families in Newport. You will coordinate care, manage a patient caseload, and contribute to nurse-led clinics, while working closely with healthcare teams. Ideal candidates will have a diploma or degree, relevant ongoing education, and experience in respiratory or oncology care. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Lung Cancer Specialist Nurse Service at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board at St Woolos Hospital, Newport.
The candidate will be an enthusiastic, forward-thinking nurse, who passionately wants to provide specialist support for lung cancer patients and their families.
To competently provide specialist nursing knowledge, clinical skills, support and advice for patients with lung cancer, and their families and carers across the ABUHB site.
To work with the lung cancer and primary healthcare teams, families and carers, to provide a coordinated approach, ensuring continuity of care for patients.
To act as a resource to, and to participate in, effective educational activities, in order to support competent clinical practice for all healthcare professionals involved in lung cancer care.
To support protocol-driven, nurse-led clinics, which complement the outpatient service, as directed by the Clinical Nurse Specialist/Consultant Chest Physician.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

You will need to be able to demonstrate knowledge of the lung cancer patient pathway and management. Recent respiratory and/or oncology experience is desirable. You will be expected to manage a caseload of patients and progress to providing nurse led clinics, in accordance with NICE guidance.
