Logistics Operatives – Aerospace – Middlesex & Buckinghamshire

Our Aerospace client based in Buckinghamshire / Middlesex UK requires several Logistics Operatives to work with them on a permanent basis. Their products and systems are world leading.

What you’ll be doing

Join them on this mission as a Logistics Operative working in our client’s Stores or Packing Department at our site on the Middlesex and Buckinghamshire borders.

You’ll be preparing, packing and labelling products and components for transport internally and to new and existing customers and suppliers, whilst undertaking multi‑skilled duties within Stores.

Responsibilities
  • Primary and final packing of parts, components and products in accordance with the customer and technical requirements.
  • Validating batch numbers, part descriptions and amounts against the SAP system and flagging discrepancies to Cell Leaders.
  • Ensuring all goods are packed with the appropriate materials according to the instructions, and that labels and addresses are attached and clearly visible/legible.
  • Confirming that delivery instructions are correct and the package to be shipped is identified.
  • Liaising with the Logistics team and Shipping clerk to ensure that goods are ready for dispatch.
  • Undertaking self‑inspection and quality checks of work undertaken.
  • Becoming competent in a variety of multi‑skilled duties within Detail Stores, Raw Material Stores and Internal Transport using a variety of processes and techniques in accordance with company and departmental objectives.
  • Accurately picking, packing and issuing materials, goods and stock from Detail and Raw Material Stores areas.
  • Taking receipt of all materials, goods and stock from the main factory and external sources into the Detail Stores.
  • Internal transportation – movement of goods throughout the factory, including use of the forklift truck, Robur electric pallet stacker and scissor lift equipment.
  • Undertaking duties within Raw Material Stores such as saw operation.
Characteristics & Skills
  • Basic stores and packing experience gained from a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Can work under pressure to balance competing job priorities to agreed deadlines.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office packages including Word and Excel.
  • Has a structured and methodical working style with good interpersonal skills and a team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow instructions/requests whether verbal or written.

Please note: Candidates must currently hold the rights to live and work in the UK and be living in the UK now.

Working hours: 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 12pm Friday. Overtime payments are made at enhanced rates for hours outside scheduled times.

Forklift licence useful, but not necessary and can be trained where required.

Candidates must be prepared to undergo UK Security clearance vetting to BPSS level.
