Job description

In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.


The purpose of this role is the management of operational activities within the logistics function and contributes to the delivery of the overall logistics strategy to ensure the delivery of commitments to all customers. The role holder will actively lead the assigned team, providing supervision, support and development of people in order to achieve key operational metrics in line with the overall Supply Chain business strategy. The Logistics Manager is accountable for achieving Logistical KPI's in scope as well as leading continuous improvement of the teams and processes.


Key Responsibilities


  • Being the lead, mentor and developer of the supply chain team.

  • Ensure a safe working environment and drive HSE culture leading by example, implementing daily, weekly audits on HSE as well as improvement plans.

  • Understand the One Safran process standards (SCOUT) for the relevant logistics process and maintain and build upon process standards with the view to develop and drive improvements where necessary.

  • Own and produce Logistics KPI's to assess performance vs target and communicate status to key stakeholders.

  • To ensure continuous improvement activities are conducted, reviewed and evaluated in area of responsibility with the team.

  • People management activities including conducting team meetings, providing updated date and information to drive best working practices for the team and individuals, employee management including but not limited to absence management, people development, employee relations and recruitment / selection.

  • Manage, allocate, evaluate a cross functional team in order to optimise operational resource.
