Job description

An established and growing manufacturing company is seeking a highly organised and experienced Logistics Executive to join its dynamic supply chain team. This is a key role responsible for ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of inbound and outbound goods, while driving continuous improvement across logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities as Logistics Executive will be to: -

  • Plan and manage logistics capacity to support factory operations, warehousing, and outbound distribution.
  • Liaise with third-party logistics providers to ensure optimal service at the best value.
  • Coordinate outbound deliveries (including groupage, full loads, and collections), ensuring accurate consignment preparation and efficient routing.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support compliance with UK regulatory requirements.
  • Provide clear and complete customs instructions (e.g., HS Codes, CPC, Importer/Exporter of Record, VAT/duty allocations).
  • Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks by implementing process improvements.
  • Contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly operational meetings, offering insight and reporting on logistics performance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth and efficient material flow.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and professional collaboration within the logistics function.

The successful candidate will: -

  • Have experience in logistics, ideally with third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
  • Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, customs processes and required documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Highly organised, with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to liaise effectively across internal departments and external partners.
  • Able to prioritise, multi-task, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commercially aware, with sound judgement and a solutions-driven mindset.
