Overview
Job description: We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to manage and optimize our clients transportation and delivery operations. This role is essential for ensuring efficient movement of goods, maintaining inventory flow, and coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers to meet delivery requirements.
Responsibilities
- Delivery & Transport Planning: Plan and coordinate delivery schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective distribution; develop and maintain internal transport planning systems; create delivery demand forecasts for national haulier operations; optimise delivery routes and schedules to maximise efficiency.
- Resource Management: Conduct resource planning to ensure adequate staffing and equipment availability; allocate resources effectively across multiple delivery channels; monitor resource utilization and identify areas for improvement.
- Administrative Duties: Process transportation and logistics paperwork accurately and efficiently; maintain detailed records of deliveries, schedules, and supplier communications; ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Supplier Relations: Communicate regularly with external transport suppliers and contractors; negotiate delivery schedules and coordinate with third-party logistics providers; build and maintain strong working relationships with haulier partners; monitor supplier performance and address any service issues.
- Inventory & Stock Management: Maintain comprehensive understanding of stock levels and inventory movements; plan internal transport requirements based on stock availability and demand.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Essential: Previous experience in logistics, transport planning, or supply chain management
- Essential: Strong organisational and planning skills
- Essential: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Essential: Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office applications
- Essential: Attention to detail and accuracy in paperwork processing

- Experience with national distribution networks
- Familiarity with demand planning and forecasting
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Full UK driving license
Working Conditions
Office-based role with occasional warehouse visits. Standard business hours with flexibility required during peak periods. Regular communication with external suppliers and internal teams.
