GELS plays an important role in supporting the care sector in Gloucestershire. We are responsible for the distribution, delivery, installation, collection, maintenance and minor adaptations of medical and telecare equipment to support people being discharged from hospital and to help people remain independent in their own home. The service is delivered on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council and One Gloucestershire.
The main responsibility of this role is to work in a two‑person crew by providing support and assistance to the driver in the distribution, fitting and collection of medical equipment to members of the public.
This is an interesting and varied role within an established and supportive team, making a difference to people in Gloucestershire. You would be working alongside Logistic Officers (drivers), other Logistic Assistants, team leaders and an administration team.
We are looking for someone who is experienced in assisting with multi‑drop van deliveries and has good geographical knowledge of Gloucestershire. The ideal candidate will also have:
You may have experience as a Drivers Mate, Delivery Assistant, Loader/Driver Helper, Courier Assistant or Warehouse Operative.
