Job description

Physiotherapist – Darlington

Dream Medical are currently working with a MSK Triage and Treat service in Darlington in recruiting a locum Physiotherapist on a fixed long term contract. The Centre is looking for a Physiotherapist to start ASAP on 30 hours / week flexible on days worked. We have 12 hour shifts available to fit around any busy schedule.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Work with some patients and their families/carers over a period of weeks or months to identify and treat their physical problem.
  2. Develop and review treatment programmes, along with patients themselves, that encourage exercise and movement by the use of a range of techniques.
  3. Assist patients with joint and spinal problems, including following surgery.
  4. Help patients' rehabilitation following accidents, injury and strokes.
  5. Assist in the supervision and education of student and junior physiotherapists and physiotherapy support workers.
  6. Write patient case notes and reports and collect statistics.
  7. Educate patients and their carers about how to prevent and/or improve conditions.
  8. Keep up to date with new techniques and technologies available for treating patients.
  9. Communicate with a wide range of patients, carers and health and social care team members.
  10. Liaise with other healthcare professionals to exchange information about the background and progress of patients, as well as to refer patients who require other medical attention.
  11. Be legally responsible and accountable.
  12. Be caring, compassionate and professional at all times.
  13. Manage clinical risk.
