Locum Consultant - Interventional Radiology

The Clinical Imaging and Medical Physics Directorate is seeking to appoint a new full‑time Locum consultant to join its well‑established and fast developing Interventional Radiology team. The post is required to meet ever increasing demand for Interventional Radiology services.

Main duties of the job

The post will be based in St. Thomas' Hospital, Guy's Hospital and in Evelina London Children's Hospital. This is a 50% job share 5pa Guys and St thomas, 5PA Lewisham and Greenwich Trust. However, it is a requirement of your employment that you be prepared to work at any additional or different location owned or served by the Trust, either on an on‑going or temporary basis according to the demands of the service. The post holder will ideally have adult and paediatrics experience. This is an excellent opportunity to join a first class team in an active and progressive central London teaching hospital environment. In addition to supporting established interventional services, the post‑holder will have the opportunity to develop areas of special interest. They will be expected to take an active interest in research and development and to participate in the teaching programmes of the department.

You must be fully registered with the GMC and hold Licence to Practice and be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage. The postholder will have regular contact with vulnerable adults and/or children (0‑18 years) and therefore this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.

Job responsibilities

Your job plan is anticipated to contain 10 Programmed Activities per week on average to be carried out on Guys & St Thomas and Evelina includes on‑call commitments.

As a Department we are open to flexible working patterns which suit the Department and individual needs with agreement with the Clinical Director and Clinical Lead.
