A leading healthcare provider in Manchester invites applications for a full-time Consultant Transplant Cardiologist position. Applications are invited for 1 full‑time Consultant Transplant Cardiologist to support services in the Manchester Heart Institute across Manchester. The position will be based at Wythenshawe Hospital.
The Wythenshawe Hospital site is a tertiary centre for cardiothoracic and cardiology services in Greater Manchester and provides quaternary level heart and lung transplantation services. It has been designated as the hub site for the MFT Single Cardiac Service.
Candidate will be expected to participate in on‑call cardiothoracic surgery and heart/lung transplantation rotas, operating on a 1 in 5 basis.
As the leading provider of tertiary and specialist healthcare services in Manchester, the Trust treats more than a million patients every year. The post holder will be part of a team of 50 Consultant Cardiologists and 16 visiting Consultants in the Manchester Heart Institute and will primarily be based at Wythenshawe Hospital. The successful candidate with appropriate Cardiothoracic Transplantation experience will participate in on‑call cardiothoracic surgery rotas, operating on a 1 in 4 basis.
