Job description

Job Title: Litigation Solicitor
Location: Manchester City Centre
Salary: £35,000 to £50,000 per annum
Contract: Full or Part Time, Permanent

Role Overview & Daily Responsibilities:

  • Managing a caseload of commercial and civil litigation matters, from initial instruction through to resolution, with minimal supervision
  • Undertaking complex legal research and pre-action investigations to support strategic decision-making and case progression
  • Drafting and reviewing a wide range of legal documentation, including pleadings, trial bundles, witness statements, and instructions to counsel
  • Preparing high-quality client and third-party correspondence, offering clear legal advice and updates on case developments
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients, opposing representatives, and other stakeholders, managing communications with professionalism and efficiency
  • Overseeing the procedural and administrative aspects of litigation, including court timetabling, file management, and accurate CRM record-keeping
  • Leading or participating in settlement negotiations, mediations, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution on behalf of clients
  • Representing the firm at court hearings and trials, working closely with counsel and other professionals to ensure effective advocacy and case presentation
  • Collaborating with colleagues across departments to ensure effective case delivery, knowledge sharing, and client service standards
