Job summary

Overview

Astrea Academy Dearne is seeking a highly effective Literacy Tutor to join our committed and ambitious team. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering high-quality, targeted tuition to individuals and small groups of scholars. You will play a key role in supporting identified students through structured interventions, helping to raise attainment and close gaps in literacy.

We serve over 1,150 scholars aged 11‑16 in Barnsley and are easily accessible from Wakefield, Leeds, Doncaster, and Sheffield. As part of Astrea Academy Trust, we are committed to delivering an inclusive, aspirational, and academic education for all. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will hold Grade 4/C or above in English and Maths, with QTS or HLTA status desirable. You will have significant experience working with primary‑aged children and/or Key Stage 3 scholars, including those with additional needs.
