Job summary

An exciting apprenticeship opportunity is available in Llangefni, with a focus on developing diagnostic skills for the car industry. The trainee will engage in various duties such as servicing, maintaining, and repairing vehicles. Ideal candidates should have at least 3 GCSEs and preferably some experience with light vehicles. Training will be provided to equip apprentices with the necessary skills to thrive in a dynamic automotive environment.

Qualifications

  • Candidates are preferred with experience working with light vehicles.
  • Level 1 or 2 Light Vehicle qualification is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Servicing vehicles to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintaining vehicles by replacing worn parts.
  • Repairing vehicles by diagnosing failures.

About the apprenticeship

An exciting opportunity for the Apprentice to be trained, using the latest diagnostic equipment to provide them with the relevant skills to react to the ever-changing technological developments within the car industry.

Duties

Day to day tasks will always vary, but will normally include :

  • Servicing
  • MOT’s
  • Vehicle maintenance

Observing and assisting technicians

Car technicians will be expected to see whether components and systems are secure and working properly.

The Car Technicians jobs fall into three categories :
  • Servicing – working to manufacturer servicing guidelines to ensure vehicle running at optimum performance
  • Maintenance – replacing parts that have wear and tear before they fail
  • Repair – diagnosing the reason for vehicle failure and fixing the problem
Requirements
Qualifications

Minimum of 3 GCSEs at grades A

  • C / 9-4 (or equivalent) would be preferable
  • Candidates with previous experience working with light vehicles or a Level 1 or 2 Light Vehicle qualification will be preferred, but this is not essential
