The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, supporting their developmental needs through engaging activities and personalised care. Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development
  • Supervise children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods, ensuring their safety at all times
  • Foster a warm and welcoming environment that encourages children's curiosity and independence
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop programmes that meet individual needs and nursery standards
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's development and daily activities
  • Support the training and mentoring of junior staff or interns as required
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and nursery policies
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to childcare documentation
Requirements
  • Proven experience working with children within a nursery or childcare setting
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and best practices in childcare
  • Ability to engage children through creative play and educational activities
  • Childcare qualification such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent is preferred
