Lesson Cover Supervisor - Kettering

Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire
Contract: Full-time / Part-time (term-time only)
Salary: £100-£130 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking confident, adaptable, and proactive Lesson Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in the Wellingborough area. This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced school staff looking to take the next step in their education career.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with pre-prepared work. No planning or marking is required-just strong classroom presence and excellent behaviour management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver pre-set lesson materials to classes in the teacher's absence.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and focused learning environment.
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Provide support to students as they complete classwork.
  • Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour.
  • Adapt quickly to different subjects, year groups, and school settings.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience working with young people (schools, tutoring, coaching, youth work, etc.).
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to lead a classroom.
  • Strong behaviour management and a calm, professional manner.
  • A flexible, reliable, and proactive attitude.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Tradewind).
