Job Description

Our client is a highly successful water treatment company known for their provision of professional services to a diverse client base. This company is currently recruiting for an experienced and multi‑skilled Legionella Risk Assessor/Water Hygiene Engineer based in and around the Chelmsford area. The successful candidate will be experienced in undertaking legionella risk assessment in line with ACOP L8 guidelines, as well as a range of routine water hygiene duties including tank cleans, cleaning and chlorination and water sampling/temperature monitoring. Consideration will be given to applications from Wickford, Brentwood, Romford, Witham and the surrounding areas.

Qualifications & experience

• Hold a City & Guilds or WMS certificate.
• Previous experience working as a Legionella Risk Assessor.
• Excellent communications skills.
• A good working knowledge of water treatment Health & Safety legislation.
• Be flexible with the ability to work independently.

Postholder responsibilities

• Conducting Legionella Risk Assessments to ACOP L8.
• Compiling schematic drawings, documents and reports for clients.
• Providing recommendations and prices for remedial works.
• Routine control measures through quotations and work carried out based on the risk assessments.
• Build and maintain a professional working relationship with clients.
• Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold water systems, boilers and cooling towers.
• Temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.
• Cleaning and disinfection of CWSTs.
• Showerhead cleaning.
