Legal Team Leader – Birmingham

Our international law firm client is seeking a Legal Team Leader to join their energetic and fast-paced Legal Delivery Centre in Birmingham.

Competitive salary • Birmingham location • 09:30-17:30 working hours & hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days remote)

Overview

The Legal Team Leader will provide hands-on day-to-day supervision and project management of the firm’s paralegal teams on all projects, including document review and due diligence projects, as part of the Legal Delivery Centre in Birmingham.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise teams of paralegals on multiple projects, including briefing the paralegals to ensure they understand instructions, allocation of work, quality checking, dealing with queries, and day-to-day supervision, as well as pastoral and professional development conversations.
  • Ensure projects meet deadlines and stay within cost estimates to satisfy client needs and expectations at all times.
  • Assist with preparation of briefing notes and worked examples, as required.
  • Coordinate work with outside vendors, including adherence to strict deadlines.
  • Help develop own and the team’s practical knowledge and experience with legal technology tools, such as those used for automated contract review and contract drafting.
Skills & Requirements
  • UK or foreign qualified solicitor (with a current practising certificate) or CILEX lawyer.
  • Experience in supervision of paralegals, whether on a temporary or permanent basis, is essential.
  • Previous experience in multiple disciplines (e.g., Litigation and Corporate or Real Estate) would be a distinct advantage.
