Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Legal Bookkeeper or Legal Cashier role within a solicitor’s practice.
  • Strong knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Regulations (SAR).

About the Company

A long-standing solicitors’ practice in East Belfast with a reputation for professionalism and client service is seeking to appoint a Legal Bookkeeper. About the Job

This is a key role within the practice, responsible for ensuring accurate management of client and office accounts in line with Solicitors Accounts Regulations. Reporting directly to the Practice Manager, the successful candidate will play an integral part in the financial operations of the firm.

Duties will include:

  • Maintaining and reconciling client and office accounts

  • Processing daily banking transactions including lodgements, payments, and transfers

  • Managing purchase ledger, sales ledger, and credit control

  • Handling disbursements, professional fees, VAT returns, and payroll

  • Completing regular bank reconciliations

  • Preparing financial reports for partners and liaising with auditors as required

  • Supporting compliance with all Solicitors Accounts Regulations and HMRC requirements

Your Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a Legal Bookkeeper or Legal Cashier role within a solicitor’s practice

  • Strong knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Regulations (SAR)

  • Proficiency in accounting and practice management software

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with partners, fee earners, and clients
