Job Overview

Due to the continued growth and success of our brick provision, we are looking to recruit additional lecturers and/or assessors to join the team.

About the Role

The work we do in Construction is essential in supporting local businesses. We work with a huge range of companies to ensure our qualifications and curriculum offer meet the industry's needs. We cover brickwork, groundwork and carpentry; we have a first‑class track record of working with employers on successful apprenticeship programmes.

Apprenticeship Trainer Assessors work closely with our apprentices, their employers and their colleagues to ensure that our apprentices thrive. These roles include assessments, reviews, site visits and an element of teaching.

Lecturers work on campus to:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver practical and theory lessons in construction, using a variety of teaching methods and resources to engage learners.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, exams and practical work to ensure successful outcomes.

The successful postholder will teach on a range of levels, from entry to Level 3 including apprentices.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct apprenticeship assessments and reviews.
  • Perform site visits and coordinate with employers.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver practical and theoretical lessons.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback.
  • Support students’ career development and progression.
Qualifications
  • Essential: Level 3 brick/groundwork qualification and site experience.
  • Assessing qualification: must be able to gain or already hold one.
  • For senior appointments (point 12 or above, £37,454 FTE): a Level 5 teaching qualification and experience are required.
