Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex additional needs? Axcis Education is recruiting a dedicated Learning Support Mentor to join a highly nurturing ASC and SEMH specialist provision in Dorchester. This forward‑thinking school offers small class sizes, a therapeutic approach, and a commitment to helping every learner grow academically, socially, and emotionally. You’ll play a key role in providing consistent 1:1 and small‑group support for pupils with ASC, SEMH, ADHD, and associated needs—offering structure, encouragement, and personalised strategies that help each young person thrive.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Providing tailored 1:1 support to help pupils remain focused, regulated, and engaged
  • Supporting both academic and emotional development using therapeutic, trauma‑informed approaches
  • Building strong, trusted relationships to create a safe and consistent environment
  • Assisting teachers in delivering creative, individualised learning activities
  • Using positive behaviour strategies to promote resilience and independence
  • Helping pupils develop communication, social interaction, self‑care, and life skills
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, therapists, the SENCO, and external professionals
  • Contributing to pupil progress tracking and individual development planning
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience supporting children or young people with ASC, SEMH, or other SEND
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a supportive team
  • A proactive, flexible mindset with a genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers
  • Relevant SEN, SEMH, or behaviour support training (desirable but not essential)
Why Join This Provision?
  • A warm, inclusive, and well‑supported environment where staff wellbeing matters
  • Access to specialist training, including trauma‑informed and therapeutic approaches
  • Small class sizes and modern facilities designed to meet complex needs
  • The chance to make a meaningful, daily impact on pupils’ lives
  • Competitive pay and consistent weekly hours through Axcis Education
