Job summary

A leading educational institution in the United Kingdom is seeking experienced Learning Support Assistants to aid students in a Primary/Secondary SEMH School. Candidates should have experience with social and emotional needs, ideally in alternative provisions. The role involves providing classroom support, emotional assistance, and managing challenging behaviors. This is a full-time position during term time, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Key qualities we are looking for
  • Previous experience working in a PRU or alternative provision
  • Graduate (Sociology, Sports, Criminology or Psychology)
  • Experienced Youth or Community Support Worker
  • Support workers from mental health facilities or high-risk secure units
  • Sports coaches looking to transfer skills in supporting vulnerable young pupils' education
  • Confident, resilient, positive personality
Responsibilities
  • Support students with social, emotional, mental health needs across either primary or secondary ages providing classroom support.
  • Provide 1:1 support with any emotional issues, and support pupils who are behind with their work.
Requirements
  • Experience and understanding of how to support young people with social, emotional, mental health needs.
  • Flexible in being able to provide 1:1, group support.
  • Deal with any challenging behaviours or incidents in a calm manner.
  • Available to start immediately.
  • Commitment during term time full time Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm.
