Are you looking for a new role? We are looking for a Full Time Learning Support Assistant to provide support to our young people for 21 hours per week, term time only.

The role involves supporting our young people to develop by providing physical and emotional support. You will work as part of a team to maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of our young people first. Ultimately, you will be a role model to our students.

Introduction – Cambian Pengwern College

Cambian Pengwern College is a 52‑week placement provision with a proud and successful tradition of supporting students between the ages of 16‑25 who have moderate to severe learning disabilities and complex needs, including some challenging behaviours, to gain valuable life skills, qualifications and confidence to support their onward journey towards independence. The Head of College and the dedicated team recognise this success and want to offer this opportunity to a wider range of young people and adults as part of the ongoing developments that are taking place across all areas of the college. The purpose of the school is to prepare students for the demands of adult life through staff expertise and specialist approaches, providing a nurturing and therapeutic environment that encourages students to flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance, support and encouragement to young people in a variety of settings, including classroom, education and off‑site activities.
  • Support young people to develop physically and emotionally.
  • Maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that prioritises health, safety and welfare.
  • Act as a role model for students.
Requirements
  • Flexible with a passion to develop your skills.
  • Good attitude and understanding of students with a learning disability.
  • Driver licence to drive college vehicles – desirable.
  • DBS and reference checks will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice.
