Temporary Learning Support Assistant (Secondary School)

Location: Doncaster

Contract: Temporary

PK Education PK Education are currently recruiting a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work on a long-term temporary basis in a secondary school in Doncaster, starting as soon as possible.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and supportive individual who is passionate about helping young people achieve their full potential within a secondary school setting.

The Role As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students learning and development.

This may include working with individuals or small groups of pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting students in the classroom to access the curriculum Working one-to-one or with small groups of pupils as directed by the teacher
  • Assisting students with additional learning needs, including SEN and behavioural support
  • Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Supporting teachers with classroom activities and learning resources
  • Monitoring and reporting on student progress where required
Requirements
  • Experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
  • A genuine interest in supporting students learning and wellbeing
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
  • Right to work in the UK
