Job summary

A leading educational support organization in Ripon is seeking enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to provide guidance and support to young people with complex needs. You will play a pivotal role in assisting teaching staff and improving the lives of students. Ideally, you have experience working with young people and a relevant qualification. Qualifications

  • Experience of working in an educational establishment.
  • Knowledge of the Educational, Health, Care Plan process.
  • Understanding Data Protection Act and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Provide educational guidance and support to young people.
  • Assist teaching staff in lesson delivery.
  • Act as a role model and support the development of students.

Skills

Experience of working with children and/or young people
Strong IT skills
Excellent communication skills
Innovative and creative thinking

Education

Recognised qualification (NVQ level 3 or equivalent)
Good general standard of education (GCSE English & Maths at Level C)

Qualifications
  • Experience of working with children and/or young people in educational establishment

  • Hold a recognised qualification (NVQ level 3 or equivalent) or working towards this within 1st year
  • Good general standard of education, particularly English & Maths at GCSE Level C or equivalent
  • Strong IT skills
  • L2 Certificate in Understanding Autism (desirable)
