Learning Support Assistant

Responsibilities
  • Supporting learners academically, socially and pastorally to help them succeed
  • Working with tutors to prepare learning materials, track progress and reinforce instructions during activities
  • Promoting inclusion, maintaining good discipline and supporting learners around campus
  • Assisting with mobility, personal care, specialist equipment and acting as a reader/writer in assessments
  • Attending meetings, maintaining records and contributing to an inclusive learning environment
Qualifications
  • Experience supporting or teaching adults and young people with additional learning needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to manage challenging behaviours and situations
  • Good written and verbal skills, IT competence and flexibility
  • Ability to travel as required
  • EWC registration, an Enhanced DBS, and proof of right to work in the UK are required
  • Basic Skills Support qualification, ALN Support qualification (or willingness to achieve), First Aid

This is a temporary position for a long term period up to February 2026, with a potential to be extended until the end of the academic year. You’ll be working part time, 3 days / 19.5 hours per week (days to be confirmed).

You’ll be starting on an hourly pay rate of £12.66 per hour, plus weekly pay, holiday accrual and other benefits and based in the Rhos on Sea area.

Please note, this role is subject to an enhanced DBS certificate being completed.
