Ready to use your passion for supporting young people to help them thrive? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to join a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Hull, starting immediately.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, well-resourced environment where staff are committed to helping every student overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. You will be working with students who may present with challenging behaviours, Autism, ADHD, and complex emotional needs, providing key support in a nurturing and structured setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students, helping them access the curriculum and manage their emotions.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching staff to deliver a tailored curriculum and differentiated activities.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students.
  • Use trauma-informed and behaviour management strategies effectively to de-escalate situations and promote positive behaviour.
  • Help track and monitor student progress, contributing to reports and meetings as necessary.
The ideal candidate will have
  • Experience working with young people with SEMH and additional needs.
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach.
  • A genuine desire to support vulnerable learners and act as a positive role model.
